TOP CREATIVE, SCIENTIFIC OR TECHNICAL CHOPS GOT YOU HERE. NEXT STOP…
You are a professional who is…
At the top of your career, what got you here – won’t get you there.
At the helm of a team of high achieving experts, tasked to get the most out of them.
Finding yourself under increasing pressure that you want to handle more effectively.
What might be going through your mind…
I’m eager to find engaging high performance (again).
I feel restricted, stuck, bored, patronised or misunderstood.
I want to improve my leadership of others, but I’m not sure where and how to go about it.
“I’m often accused of being ahead of my time, but it’s simply not true.
The truth is that everybody else is behind.”
Brian Eno
PERFORMANCE AND LEADERSHIP FOR PEOPLE AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.
I could write a whole essay on how I work with creative, scientific and technical professionals. But in short, the best way to describe it is: I support people at the top of their game who embrace that art, science and design are intrinsically linked and require flow. Getting out of your own way is a constant dance. I support high performing professionals on that dance below the surface.
I love this description of Dr Maryam Mirzakhani’s process:
Mirzakhani described herself as a “slow” mathematician, saying that “you have to spend some energy and effort to see the beauty of math.” To solve problems, Mirzakhani would draw doodles on sheets of paper and write mathematical formulas around the drawings. Her daughter described her mother’s work as “painting”.
“It’s not only the question, but the way you try to solve it.”
Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani, Stanford Math Professor + Fields Medal winner
